Tokyo-based hooper Deanne (AKA sushi zume) fell in love with the art of Hoop Dance many moons ago and has not spent a day without her hoops since. Based in Tokyo, Japan, she took her hoops on a magical journey down under to meet with mentor and hoop idol Bunny Hoop Star. Together in Sydney they shared the Hoop Love, Bunny imparted her wealth of circus hoop and hoop dance knowledge culminating the teacher training with a divine LED and Fire Hoop jam on the shores of Bondi Beach. Deanne soaked up all the hoop juju and returned to Tokyo to share the love and passion for hoop dance with the movers and groovers of the illuminated city.
 
Now a qualified Hoop Dance instructor Deanne can be seen lighting up dance floors in Tokyo clubs with her LED hoop light shows. When she is not burning up the dance floor she can be spotted sharing the tricks of the hoop trade in parks and dance studios across Tokyo, teaching young hoopers in after school clubs and helping new hoopers explore their limitless bodies and get their groove on.
Deanne is passionate about bringing the art of hoop dance and self-expression to the diverse international scene in Tokyo. Her desire to connect people through dance, music and fun fueled the creation of Hoop Lovers. Deanne's mission is to inspire global beings to find their true potential through movement and self-expression via the all encompassing benefits of hoop dance. Her development of a fun-filled and joyous hoop community in Japan and the rest of the world is an undying love that strengthens with each day and hoop session.

Completing her Bachelor of Education in Brisbane, Australia in 2000 Deanne has years of wonderful experience as full time primary school teacher. She has taught in schools both in Australia and Japan and brings her passion for international education and life long learning to every class she is engaged in. Each teaching opportunity is also a great learning experience for Deanne as she sees her self as a life long student . She looks forward to learning new and interesting life and dance skills from her students everyday. |
